SGS students to dance for charity at The Galleries on Monday 11 February 2019Posted on: 09 Feb 2019
Get on your dancing shoes! The Galleries has got an exclusive performance happening on Monday 11 February in aid of Wallace & Gromit's Grand Appeal, the Bristol Children’s Hospital charity.
The Galleries is known for its continued support of local charities, businesses and most importantly, people. On Monday 11 February, take a break from retail therapy to support an established local charity - alongside the work of talented students - at an exclusive dance performance.
At 11 am, and later at 12:30 pm, catch the highly-trained students from South Gloucestershire and Stroud College take to the floor in aid of Wallace & Gromit's Grand Appeal. Ready to perform a variety of dance routines learned at college, the troop are returning to The Galleries for the fourth time. It’s safe to say; they’ve certainly made an impression!
Transforming the ground floor of The Galleries into a dance showcase, approximately 20 students will perform a series of highly intricate routines for shoppers and sightseers alike. The ground floor is located near to Poundland, by the way!
Remember those vibrant Wallace & Gromit figurines which appeared across the city last year? This was yet another initiative of The Grand Appeal, a charitable project that has raised £50 million to support sick babies, children and their families in Bristol Children’s Hospital.
After years of innovative and creative fundraising, The Grand Appeal has contributed toward the pioneering of lifesaving medical equipment, as well as funding research into improved treatments. They’ve also provided family accommodation, support and extensive funding to arts, music, and play programmes for patients.
All you’ve got to do is get down to The Galleries on Monday morning to enjoy a fantastic performance from local students! Not too tricky, right?
The Galleries Shopping Centre is located in Bristol, BS1 3XA. The performance is happening Monday 11 February from 11 am on the ground floor of The Galleries, located near to Poundland.
