It's that time of year again - Valentine's Day is just around the corner, and with it comes the mad scramble to book a table at a restaurant to spend the day with your other half. It doesn't matter if you're fully loved up or currently in the doghouse, get in touch with one of the great Bristol establishments below to make your partner's Valentine's Day that little bit more special this year.

One of the more upmarket spots in the culinarily diverse Wapping Wharf area, Root has quickly earned a reputation as one of the best small restaurants in the city since opening in 2016. Owned by Michelin star chef Josh Eggleton, the small plate establishment specialises in expertly crafted seasonal vegetable dishes, ranging anywhere from marinated Shimeji and Enoki mushroom risotto to cauliflower pakora, baked goats cheese flatbreads and much more, with an ever-changing specials menu also available. With space for just 30 diners at any given time Root is certainly one of Bristol's most intimate restaurants, making it the perfect venue for a Valentine's Day meal for two.

 

The Lost & Found - 85 Queens Rd, Bristol BS8 1QS

Bristol’s ultimate date spot is offering an exclusive three-course menu with winter favourites this Valentine's Day, including king prawn linguine, a coconut, sweet potato and butternut squash curry and poppy seed battered hake, finished off with the yin and yang sharer dessert, sure to tickle the taste buds. The menu is available from 14th-17th February for £29.95 per person, with the option to upgrade to the exclusive Lanique cocktail flight for an additional £10 per person and enjoy a specially-selected cocktail pairing with each course.

 

The Square Club - 15 Berkeley Square, Bristol BS8 1HB

The chefs at the renowned Square Club Kitchen have put together an extra-special seven-course menu for their annual Valentine's Day dining experience this year. Standard and vegetarian menus are on offer at a cost of £55 per person, with wine pairings offered to accompany three of the seven courses. Regularly commended for its carefully prepared, locally sourced menus, the award-winning Square Kitchen is certainly one of Bristol's top Valentine's Day spots.

 

The Mint Room - 12-16 Clifton Rd, Bristol BS8 1AF

Available all year, The Mint Room's Party Set Menu is the perfect accompaniment to a romantic Valentine's evening. One of the city's favourite Indian restaurants, the Bristol branch of The Mint Room is located on Clifton Road and boasts a supremely inviting interior. At a cost of £35 per person, you'll be given a complimentary glass of Piper Heidsieck Brut champagne before sitting down to enjoy three courses of delicious authentic Indian cuisine with optional wine flights available at £18 per person. 

 

The Prince Street Social - 34-41 Prince St, Bristol BS1 4PS

Get down to The Prince Street Social this Valentine's Day for a special treat - for just £35 per person you can enjoy a special set menu with your loved one, including prosecco on arrival followed by a bespoke three-course menu. Each course will be perfectly paired with a drink, including a special addition at the end.

Tucked away just off the main road through Stokes Croft sits the Jamaica Street Stores, an intimate and stylish venue that specialises in flavourful, punchy dishes. Their five-course Valentine's menu, available at a price of just £35 per person, includes a complimentary glass of prosecco on arrival and allows you to sample some of the kitchen's most popular dishes, with Venison heart pastrami, wild tiger prawns, roast brassicas and much more on offer.
