Illustrate in Bristol have creative workshops running throughout February
Posted on: 31 Jan 2019Illustrate in Bristol are hosting a series of creative workshops in their Park Street store throughout February and at the start of March.
"For many reasons, art often gets left behind as we grow older, leave school and progress into demanding careers. It's so easy to fall into the trap of being too busy to dedicate a few hours to be creative. But, why does this matter?
In 2010, the American Journal of Public Health published a review titled "The Connection Between Art, Healing, and Public Health" which looked at over 100 studies and concluded that the impact of art includes:
Reduced stress and anxiety
Increased positive emotions
Reduced likelihood of depression
The effects of art are real!
For this reason, this year we are determined to get as many people involved in art as possible and we're super excited to be hosting a number of workshops in our new Park Street store."
The workshops include:
Upcycled Lampshade Making Workshop with Charly from LightheWay Lampshades
Learn how to make your very own 20cm drum lamp shade made from up-cycled materials. The lampshade can be a new addition to your home or could make for the perfect gift for somebody special!

Digital Art Workshop with Sam Dalton

If you have ever wondered how to start digital painting, this workshop is for you!
Join us for a crash course on the endless realms of digital art. Leave with a finished digital painting!

Glitter Make-up Artist Training Course
This workshop will host a small, intimate group of six where you will have two hours of training with Eco Glitter Fun founder, Sophie Awdry.
You will learn the best application techniques, how to start working at events, as well as business advice and a certificate of attendance.

Printing with Stencils with Sophie-Rae
You’ll learn how to cut your own stencils and build up a multi-layered print using small rollers and rich coloured printing ink. Leave with your very own print, ready to be framed and hung!

Tropical Terrarium Workshop with LOOF terrariums
Get hands-on and learn a new planting skill in our tropical terrarium workshop hosted by Robi Moore from Loof Terrariums! You’ll get to walk away with your beautiful creation, knowledge on how to care for your terrarium with a care guide and a watering pipette.
Bubbles and cake are provided and are included in the price. All materials will be supplied.?
