Music - and life, for that matter - needs its rebels. And Bristol has its very own in the form of singer-songwriter Katey Brooks, who will perform a very special gig at Arnos Vale on Friday 1st February 2019.

Katey Brooks in Bristol

Long hailed as a musical maverick defying easy classification and continually evading convenient ready-made, comfortable pigeon-holing, Brooks' music straddles the genre borders of folk, soul, blues and country.

That her songs and style have drawn comparisons to Jeff Buckley, that Time Out said she's 'not to be missed', that The Independent observed she 'has the crowd eating out of her hands', and that Joss Stone is huge fan is testament to the immense, undeniable, powerfully affecting talent of this Bristol-born artist.
Her 2016 EP, I Fought Lovers, garnered enthusiastic plaudits from UK radio stations such as BBC Radio 2, BBC 6 Music and CBC Canada. But to watch her live is another experience altogether, drawing on her colourful and tumultuous life to yield raw emotion, energy and truth throughout a set that, once seen, will never be forgotten.

The gig starts at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £15 and can be purchased here. For more info about Katey Brooks, head to her official website here.
