Free Christmas events at The Hippodrome in Bristol

Posted on: 18 Dec 2018

There’s nothing better than celebrating Christmas with a traditional carol or two – and this year, the Bristol Hippodrome is inviting the whole city to come and enjoy a song and a drink inside its Piano Bar during two very special events.

The historic theatre is hosting two free Christmas sing-songs on December 22nd and 24th, where a professional pianist will be bringing the Piano Bar to life with a selection of modern Christmas songs and traditional carols.

Both afternoons are free to attend and will fill the Hippodrome with the wonderful sounds of festive music – the perfect antidote to a day of Christmas shopping.

The Bristol Hippodrome’s customer experience manager, Laura Pick, said: “Christmas just isn’t Christmas without music, so we want to invite everyone to join us in the Piano Bar, where our talented pianists will be leading a sing-a-long of all your Christmas favourites. We love bringing the Piano Bar to life with music – whether it’s from our pianists every evening or the Secret Cabaret events we hold once a month, the best part is sharing it with everyone. We’re really looking forward to hosting these sing-a-longs so we can encourage everyone to enjoy the music of Christmas with their friends and family.”

The Bristol Hippodrome’s Christmas sing-a-longs will take place inside the theatre’s Piano Bar from 4.30—6.30pm on December 22nd and 3-5pm on December 24th.

Both events are free to attend, although donations to Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity are encouraged.

Song sheets will be provided on the day and guests of all ages are welcome to come along and join in the fun. Food and drinks will also be available to purchase from the Piano Bar and the Hanover Street Bistro.

The Hippodrome is located at St Augustine's Parade, Bristol BS1 4UZ
