Buffalo Tom

Buffalo TomTuesday 04 Dec 2018

Boston alt-rock three-piece who take their name from a combination of their love for Buffalo Springfield and the first name of their drummer. Releasing a steady stream of albums since the late 80s, they have maintained a relatively cult level of success in the UK, although scored a no.6 hit in 1999 with their cover of The Jam's 'Going Underground' as a double A sided single with Liam Gallagher and Steve Cradock (Ocean Colour Scene). However the band were a regular soundtrack to American teen drama in the 90s, with their songs used in the hit TV series 'My So-Called Life'.

After a 7 year hiatus, 2018 saw the release their 10th album; 'Quiet And Peace'. Still managing to sound fresh, as Louder Than War stated: "Over thirty years in, Buffalo Tom continue to fine-tune their craft while having enough volatility to shake off the cobwebs."

August Burns Red, Wednesday 12 Dec 2018

Every time august burns red record an album, the grammy® award-nominated pennsylvania quintet—john “jb” brubaker [lead guitar], brent rambler [rhythm guitar], matt greiner [drums], jake luhrs [lead vocals], and dustin davidson [bass]—push themselves harder, raze expectations, and reach a new level. It’s why they’ve become a heavy music torchbearer. In 2015, found in faraway places marked their second consecutive top 10 debut on the billboard top 200.

The single “identity” notched a grammy® award nod in the category of “best metal performance.” A streaming juggernaut, both “identity” and “ghosts” [feat. jeremy mckinnon] crossed the 3-million mark on spotify. When it came time to record their eighth full-length phantom anthem, the game didn’t change. The musicians put their heads down and rallied around the same shared goal, upping the ante across the board. The musical equivalent of a clenched fist haymaker, the grooves hit harder, the hooks blaze brighter, and the instrumentation ignites even more intricacy as evidenced by lead singles “invisible enemy” and “the frost.”

For fifteen years, the Quireboys have been synonymous with hand-made rock music, spiced with edgy riffs, driving rhythms and their frontman's unique voice.

With a sound that harks back to the 70's heyday of The Faces, Stones, Slade and Mott The Hoople, The Quireboy's have always remained true to their roots from the start. The boy's mission is simply to keep the spirit of good time rock ‘n’ roll alive and kicking into the 21st century. This will be a special Christmas unplugged show with a host of local bands supporting all playing acoustically
