Christmas at St Nicholas Markets from Sunday 18th November to Monday 24th December 2018

Posted on: 17 Nov 2018

Bristol's very own empire of indoor markets - the one that goes by the name of St Nicholas, obviously - will be alive with the jingling of bells and no doubt the occasional waft of mulled cider in the run-up to Crimbo itself from Sunday 18th November to Monday 24th December 2018.

Buzzing and vibrant at every other time of the year anyway, the promise of tinsel and prezzies will ramp up the festive fun a few notches with its awesome plethora of more than 60 stalls offering yummy food, highly quaffable drink, and an eclectic combo of traditional and not-so-traditional gift ideas.

Since 1742 has this indoor world of wonder been the centre of market-related activity. This year is even more special, being as it is the 275th anniversary since the market first opened to proffer its wares to the public.

St Nicholas Market Christmas

Things have no doubt changed a bit since then - perhaps more pipes and hats than record shops and goth accessories, eh? - but it's still a bustling, brilliant centrepiece and one of the city's most important landmarks and go-to spots for delicious multi-cultural cuisine, lip-smackingly good beverages and an abundance of unique gift shops.

And in the run-up to Christmas, also don't forget themed outdoor markets which will continue until the very last minute Santa's spotted overhead with his prezzie-filled, bulging sacks:

Monday, 10am to 5pm: Vegan and Wellbeing Market

Tuesday, 10am - 5pm: Street Food Market and Christmas stalls

Wednesday, 9am - 2.30pm: Bristol Farmers' and Producers' Market

Thursday, 10am - 5pm: Christmas stalls

Friday, 10am - 5pm: Street Food Market and Christmas stalls

Saturday and Sunday, 10am - 5pm: Christmas stalls
