The Redgrave Theatre 

The Nativity – A Donkey’s Tale
8th December
Told from the perspective of stable animals, a new rendition of The Nativity returns to The Redgrave Theatre with a contemporary twist. Presented by the iconic Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, the performance will be a perfect way to introduce theatre to the little ones this festive season. Tickets: £8. 

 

Santa’s Christmas Party 
22nd December
Honalee Media is returning following last year’s sell-out performances with Santa’s Christmas Party. Arguably the most exciting festive performance for the little ones, this interactive tale watches Santa get his festive soiree back on track following meddling from Jack Frost. At just forty-five minutes, the show will be sure to keep 2-7-year-olds engaged with classic songs, games and Christmas fun. Following the show, every child will have the chance to meet Santa and receive a very special gift! Tickets: £11.50.

Bristol Old Vic 

A Christmas Carol (ages 7+)
6th December - 13th January 
Bah humbug! Head to the outstanding Bristol Old Vic for an enchanting interpretation of the Dicken’s classic, A Christmas Carol. Watch as Tom Morris (The Grinning Man, Swallows & Amazons) joins forces with Lee Lyford, and Gwyneth Herbert (The Snow Queen) retell this classic fable about self-awareness, change and festive spirit. Tickets: from £7.50. 

 

Igloo 
8th December – 6th January 2019
Following last year’s exceedingly popular show for 0-3-year-olds, Travelling Light in partnership with the Old Vic bring the (very) little ones Igloo; a sensory Christmas show packed with sights, sounds and texturised play. Give your toddler the magic of theatre this Christmas! Tickets: £6. 

A Christmas Carol @ Bristol Old Vic

Livity Spit’s Nativity (ages 14+)
14th December – 22nd December
Who knew this historical tale could pack so much punch. Always a laugh, comedy duo Howard and Stu are set to tackle another of the greatest Christmas narratives ever told – The Nativity. Silly songs, unholy puppetry and lots of crudeness, this show is expected to be a hilarious festive treat. Tickets: from £13. 

 

Blah Humbug’s Queer Christmas
17th December 
Novelty knitwear, wondrous wit and amazing LGBT+ spoken word artists. Featuring the fantastic Toby Campion, this show is set to be fantastic! Tickets: £8. 

 

University performances 

University of Bristol Chamber Choir: Christmas Concert 
5th December
Conducted by Harry Kirby, the performance will include Monteverdi’s Mass for four voices SV 190, as well as a selection of carols and seasonal choral works.
