Jackie Hagan set to bring her thought-provoking This Is Not A Safe Space show to Bristol's Trinity Centre this Friday

Posted on: 17 Oct 2018

Award-winning writer, poet, comedian and theatre-maker, Jackie Hagan, will perform at Bristol's Trinity Centre on Friday 19th October 2018 with her prescient, thought-provoking show, This is Not a Safe Space.

Her new solo show highlights the plight of the real issues of contemporary society, of those living on the cusp of existence, the fringes of society, the outcasts, the rebels, the poor, the lost, the disenfranchised.

As a 'working class, queer, disabled poet', she also explores the lives of people like her, weaving a tapestry of stories, anecdotes and tales curated from interviews which celebrate the off-kilter, the quirky and the weird in all their relentless, inspiring fortitude.

Benefits cuts for disabled people is a very real issue and this show, without ever being pious or preachy, invites, encourages, positively urges you to take notice and listen and do something about it through comedy, poetry, audience interaction, puppetry and a defiant, no-nonsense stance to make a difference.

The show starts at 7.30pm. Presented as part of IGNiTE, the performance is BSL interpreted and there will be a post-show talk afterwards. Tickets cost £11 (£9) and can be purchased here. Trinity Centre is located at Trinity Road, Bristol, BS2 0NW.  Tel. 01179 351200
