Ride to bring their 30th Anniversary Unplugged acoustic show to Bristol's Trinity Centre on Sunday 2nd DecemberPosted on: 15 Oct 2018
Celebrated English rock group Ride have announced a very special acoustic tour to mark their 30th Anniversary this year. The tour, titled RIDE: Unplugged, will see the band play five dates in November and December 2018, including a show at Bristol's Trinity Centre on Sunday 2nd December. Tickets for the show are on sale now and can be found via the link below.
An acoustic tour might seem a strange way to celebrate Ride's noisy journey through thirty years of the shoegaze sound, but the idea sprung from a performance in St Paul's church in Worthing earlier this year and has captured the collective imagination of both the band and their fans.
At that show, the Oxford-based four-piece performed a full acoustic set, mixing in recent songs from the well-received Tomorrow's Shore EP and the full-length Weather Diaries with Creation-era classics like Nowhere, Going Blank Again and Carnival of Light. The set captivated the audience; so much so it seemed only right that the band do it again.
Rounding off 18 months of touring and new music, Ride's Unplugged shows promise to be a breathtaking showcase of the band's work, providing a huge, cyclical celebration of their life in music. The shows will also be another opportunity to enjoy their sound in a live setting before they take a well-earned break. Tickets for this one are £22.50 or will be available in limited numbers on the door on the night of the show, priced at £25.
Speaking on the live show, the band said: "these shows will explore and span old and newer songs giving us a chance to play some tunes we rarely get to perform along with more familiar tunes in a different way. We’ve been loving all the shows we’ve been playing since our reunion and we look forward to these".
