It’s October. You know what that means? We can officially start talking about – and planning – Halloween. Sadly, the revered holiday falls on a sultry mid-week Wednesday. But fear not: there are some amazing parties and activities going on either side of the 31st. So, what are you waiting for? Hospitality @ Motion
26th October 

Motion always brings a top party for the spooky festivities – and this year is no exception. First up, Hospitality takes over the mega-venue for a D’n’B blowout on 26th October. Positing a mix of dub, jungle and, bass; Hospitality’s Halloween is set to provide murky, dirty sounds perfect for the occasion. They’ve got Camo & Krooked, High Contrast and, Danny Byrd to prove it. 

 

The Blast @ Motion 
3rd November 

Following Hospitality, Motion host The Blast on 3rd November. Forging a sound close to its predecessor, The Blast’s haunting night of music features the likes of Bristol heavyweights Kahn and Neek besides Shy FX, Foreign Concept and Ed Rush. The night will see some of the hottest names in underground bass take over the venue, with noise blasting from four of the major complex’s rooms. It’s not to be missed.

Off Me Nut @ Thekla 
2nd November 

The infamous Off Me Nut crew from Sheffield are hosting a night of acid, bassline and, rave-core at Bristol’s iconic boat venue to mark the gloomy occasion. With over twelve of the label’s best DJs bringing non-descript noises, beats and rave vibes to the boat, their Halloween spectacular should be a lot of fun. 

 

Just Jack @ Motion
2nd November 

You can always trust Just Jack to bring a huge party. On November 2nd, the label is bringing one of the world’s best selectors – Ben Ufo – alongside DJ Bone and Tama Sumo for a night of techno, house and specially-crafted sets of good tunes. Scaling down the size of their usual parties, the vibes are set to be hauntingly good. And of course; outfits marred with dead rave-rebel chic is encouraged.

 

Alternate - Halloween Apocalypse 2018 @ Trinity Centre 
27th October 

On Saturday 27th October, Trinity Centre opens its holy doors to Alternate’s Halloween Apocalypse. It’s better than it sounds: the night boasts of a monstrous lineup including the iconic DJ Marky and GQ, besides an array of supporting names. Let’s not forget: Marky helped fuel the early 2000’s D’n’B revival. Fancy dress is encouraged, with the best of the best winning themselves guestlist to Alternate’s next party in November. Get down!

Disco Undead III - The Final Chapter @ Basement 45

27th October 

Expect bonkers fancy dress, funky tunes and a thrilling end to the Disco Undead night series. Compacting a huge range of genre into one gruesome showcase, this event calls for cheaper entry for those truly dressed for the occasion. And the best dressed? A prize bundle will be coming your way!

Magic and Comedy show at Smoke & Mirrors magic bar 
26th October, 7 pm - 12 am

Descend on the venue’s boutique theatre for a two-hour live comedy and magic show on 26th October – its Halloween-themed, of course. On arrival, guests will be greeted by an in-house, close-up magician who will wow with mind-boggling magic, while staff will be on hand to look after drinks and food choices. Then, guests will be whisked away into the club's 1920s-style theatre which seats just 44 people. From 8 pm, guests will experience a spooky, but hilarious, two-hour performance from in-house magicians. Spaces are limited - book tickets here.

Every Friday at 8 pm, the Haunted and Hidden Walking Tours depart from College Green. What better time to join the tour than Halloween? No other, we think. Murder Mystery Night Halloween Special @ Bristol Museum 
26th October, 7 pm – 1 am

There’s been a murder! Now you and some friends need to discover who did it. Hosted in the gorgeous Winterstoke and Wills Halls this magical evening of spooky fiction, cuisine and drink will be one to remember. Tour the ship’s darkest and spookiest corners, while professional actors from Bristol Old Vic roam the decks forging a frightfully fun night to remember. This fantastic event happening across four days brings Halloween together with theatre, history and, fright.

The annual zombie walk is back for its eleventh year! Join hundreds of enthusiasts as they descend on Bristol in full zombie attire. Watch out for their latest updates on their Facebook page and until then – stay deadly.
