Bristol Bears are preparing to face their first European challenge of the 2018/19 season this weekend, with Italian first-division side Zebre making the journey from Parma to the UK for a fixture at Ashton Gate Stadium at 3pm on Saturday 13th October.

Bristol Bears in action in the Gallagher Premiership.

With home and away fixtures to play against Zebre, on Saturday 13th and Saturday 20th October respectively, the upcoming run of matches presents coach Pat Lam with an opportunity to rotate his starting lineup and make full use of his squad. With three Premiership Rugby Cup matches following the European clash, the Bears have a five-week period in which to establish their strongest starters before the Premiership gets back underway.

The Bears will be hoping for a decent turn out at Ashton Gate Stadium, knowing that a strong crowd will add a huge element to the fixture. Having made his return from injury last weekend, Dan Thomas said: "people pay good money to watch us play at home, so we owe them a performance and we’ll give them one on the weekend."

With a healthy competition for places in the Bristol squad at the minute, coupled with the continuing improvement of a strong Zebre side in their Pro14 Pool, this one has the makings of a fiery first-leg fixture. Don't miss out!

Tickets for Bristol Bears' first leg against Zebre at Ashton Gate on Saturday 13th October are on sale now and can be found here. For more information or to see more upcoming fixtures, visit the Bristol Sport website or check out the Bristol Bears Facebook page.
