The The are the last headliners of this year's Bristol Skyline Series.

Formed in 1979, The The experimented with various band members and group lineups throughout the 1980s before reforming as a permanent band until the early 21st century. The period saw them release six studio albums to widespread critical acclaim, with their 1993 offering, Dusk, becoming their highest-placed UK Album Chart entry at number two.

From there, The The went on a lengthy hiatus until, in 2017, they reformed to record new music, working once again with former Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr among others. Following a successful run of shows across the country this summer, Matt Johnson and co. will be headlining Bristol's Ashton Gate Stadium this weekend to cap off a huge 2018 Skyline Series that has also seen the likes of Texas, James Arthur, Garbage and more perform on the city's stages.

Support on the night will be provided by Sunderland-based rockers Field Music. The Mercury-nominated group, fronted by brothers David and Peter Brewis, have released seven full studio albums during an off-and-on tenure in British music, and remain one of the most recognisable indie acts of the past decade.

Tickets for The The supported by Field Music at Ashton Gate Stadium on Sunday 9th September are on sale now and can be found here. For more information, visit the Skyline Series website or check out The The's official Facebook page.
