The Redgrave Theatre is holding the world premiere of new music play: Mrs Beeton Says in December!

Unravelling an unexpected story behind the well-known figure that is Mrs Beeton: Victorian journalist, editor and, author of the famous Mrs Beeton’s Book of Household Management, this show is expected to be as iconic as it’s protagonist.

Mrs Beeton’s Book of Household Management was a trusty comparison of women and home-makers for generations. Offering advice on childcare, cookery, relationships and even servant-management, the book is believed to have helped shape the middle-class identity of the Victorian era. Mrs Beeton soon became a term associated with domestic authority.

Directed by the Bristol Old Vic’s Paul Clarkson and with music by award-winning composer Eamonn O’Dwyer, Mrs Beeton Says will bring friendship, ambition, heartache and a dash of plagiarism together in one unmissable musical play.

The show will be performed Thursday 6th December until Thursday 13th December, every evening at 7:30 pm. You can also catch it at 2:30 pm on Thursday 6th, Saturday 8th, Tuesday 11th and Thursday 13th. Tickets are priced at £17.50, and £12.50 for concessions.

For tickets and more information, head to The Redgrave Theatre website. The Redgrave Theatre is located Percival Rd, Bristol BS8 3LE.
