Stokes Croft Photography Exhibition at Coexist Gallery from Thursday 2nd to Wednesday 8th August 2018

Posted on: 31 Jul 2018

The vibrant, diverse people and spirit of bohemian Stokes Croft will be captured in a photography exhibition at Coexist Gallery in the area and run from Thursday 2nd to Wednesday 8th August 2018.

A special portrait series created by Jake Davis and Chris Taylor and shot entirely on 35mm film, the reality of Stokes Croft, its essence, unique buzz and incomparable place in the city's eclectic melting pot will be depicted through their stark photography. Precisely what they saw through the lens is exactly what you'll see on the walls.

Immediate and impulsive, none of the images were preordained; they're just photos of everyday people on the streets of Stokes Croft (taken with their permission) in an attempt to understand the community, ethos and essence of this very special part of Bristol's dynamic artistic and cultural hub.

Prints and zines will be on sale with all proceeds going towards Hamilton House and Coexist. The exhibition is free to attend and entirely self-funded. It all kicks off at 6 pm on Thursday 2nd August, and you can find out more about it all here.
Coexist Gallery is located at Hamilton House, 80 Stokes Croft. Bristol, BS1 3QY.  Tel. 0117 924 9599
