Tickets available for Bristol Academy of Drama's Creating Theatre With Little Performers on 8th and 9th August 2018
Posted on: 27 Jul 2018The team at Bristol Academy of Drama is delighted to announce Creating Theatre with Little Performers, an interactive class for infant school children. One of a number of Summer workshops taking place this year, Creating Theatre is a two-day event for kids aged 4-6. Creating Theatre gives your little ones the opportunity to take an exciting and creative journey into the world of drama and performance by exploring and sharing a short performance piece, based on the playful world of the popular Cat in the Hat musical, Seussical.
Over the course of two days, the group will explore the world of the play by developing characters, creating soundscapes, forming scenes and telling stories in order to build their creation up to a complete performance which will be shown to parents at the end of the workshop. The experience will open the group's eyes to the world of drama and performance, and hopefully, provide the building blocks to kickstart a love of the arts!
The whole process is designed to develop creativity, build confidence and help with communication skills and teamwork. More than that, though, it's designed for the children who take part to have a lot of fun, test the waters of theatre performance and make some new friends in the process.
The workshop will run from 9am-12 noon on both days (8th and 9th August), with the final performance due to take place at 12 noon on the second day. It will take place at Bristol Academy's of Drama's new centre, The Kelvin Players' Theatre, located at 253b Gloucester Road, BS7 8NY.
