American hard rock pioneers Blue Oyster Cult are set to play a special live show in Bristol in early 2019 at the new St Philip's Gate venue just off Feeder Road. The band has sold over 24 million records worldwide since their formation back in the 1960s, and boast a repertoire featuring an array of internationally-recognised tracks like 'Don't Fear The Reaper' and 'Godzilla'. Tickets for their Bristol show on Thursday 28th February 2019 are on sale from 10am on Friday 27th July and can be found via the link below.

Blue Oyster Cult's full 2019 UK tour.

Formed in 1967 and originally named Soft White Underbelly, the band became Blue Oyster Cult as they started to move away from their psychedelic roots and more towards a harder rock sound. The band's greatest commercial success came in the late 70s and early 80s with the release of their fourth studio album in 1976, titled 'Agents of Fortune', which featured the hit song 'Don't Fear The Reaper' and went on to become their first platinum-selling record.

The 1980s also saw the band become one of the first in the US to really capitalise on the introduction of music videos and MTV, releasing seven music videos from 1981-1988.

While there were rumours of a new Blue Oyster Cult album in 2018 - potentially the first new music to come from the band since 2001 - the focus remains on touring and playing live, something few could deny that BOC have become quite good at over the years. Their Bristol show in February is part of a short UK headline tour which will also see the band perform live in Norwich, London, Newcastle, Glasgow, Leeds and Birmingham before a final show in Manchester.

Tickets for Blue Oyster Cult live in Bristol on Thursday 28th February go on sale at 10am on Friday 27th July and can be found here. For more information or to follow ticket updates, visit the band's official website or check out their Facebook page.
