Nestled in a beautiful Cornish estate along the River Tiddy, Port Eliot Festival is a weekend event like no other. The festival brings together a huge collection of art and ideas, ranging from fashion to fine dining, wellbeing to spoken word, and of course a fantastically diverse music lineup that caters for every taste.

Previous iterations of the festival have seen some of the UK's top musical talent grace the stages, including Florence and the Machine, Frank Turner, Jarvis Cocker, Andrew Weatherall (who now has a yearly residency at the festival) and many more.

This year, however, the organisers have upped the ante to bring you one of their best lineups to date, featuring Baxter Dury (son of the legendary Ian Dury), Gaz Coombes (formerly of Supergrass), Danny Goffey (formerly of Supergrass and Babyshambles), up-and-coming London-based rapper Jimothy Lacoste, Andrew Weatherall alongside Justin Robertson, the London African Gospel Choir and many more! Click here for a look at the full lineup.

Not only does Port Eliot boast a huge musical lineup, but, sticking true to their literature roots, they welcome a huge host of guest speakers to the grounds every year to read from a wide variety of books and give fascinating talks on a number of issues. Highlights this year include Peep Show star Robert Webb discussing masculinity and his own experiences with the concept, musician and activist Billy Bragg's discussion on politics and music, and actress Lily Cole's examination of how film can be used for social change.

Port Eliot is open to people of all ages, with a great range of family-friendly activities on offer.

The beauty of Port Eliot Festival is truly its welcoming atmosphere and emphasis on inclusion. The festival has always been open to families and the organisers are sure to do all they can to promote family-friendly activities across the whole spectrum of the event. As Colin Midson, co-founder of the festival and a dad himself, puts it, "Port Eliot brings out the child in all of us. Walking through the gates is like opening the wardrobe doors and entering Narnia. Whether you’re joining a treasure hunt in the maze with a cast of costumed characters or becoming a pirate for the weekend, adventure and excitement lurk behind every corner".

The programme of kids' and family-friendly activities this year is bigger than ever before, featuring opportunities to attend exclusive readings, art and music workshops, dance classes, treasure hunts and more. Head to the festival's website to find out more.

It's hard to articulate the magic of Port Eliot in a simple article. To really understand it you have to immerse yourself in the sights and sounds of the location, interact with the fantastic staff and fellow festival-goers, get a bit lost and discover new things. The Port Eliot organisers say it best: "we invite you to our little corner of Cornwall from July 26th to July 29th 2018 when we’ll celebrate words, music, imagination, ideas, nature, food, fashion, flowers, laughter, exploration, fun and all that is good in the world!"

A range of tickets for Port Eliot Festival 2018 from Thursday 26th-Sunday 29th July are on sale now and can be found via the festival's online ticket office. A limited number of adult weekend tickets remain, now on their third tier, with family tickets, children's tickets, day tickets and parking passes still available.
