The stage show comes just in time to celebrate 50 years since Elvis Presley’s televised Special on NBC Television - the performance that later came to be known as his ’68 Comeback Special. It will be directed by Bill Kenwright with the original story written by Laurie Mansfield.

The plot follows a key period in Elvis’ life, from the dramatic build up for his performance on NBC to his Vegas debut at which he played live for the first time in seven years. Presley is credited as one of the most influential musical icons of the 20th century, with his legacy continuing just as strong today as it has been for the last 50 years. His musical career began after a move to Memphis at 13 years old - a career that would span over 20 years and see him become an icon, a heartthrob, a movie star, and a rock ’n’ roll symbol.

The production promises to have its audiences dancing in the aisles with classics including Trouble, Heartbreak Hotel, Blue Suede Shoes, Hound Dog, Love Me Tender, All Shook Up, Suspicious Minds and many more.

Steve Michaels is known internationally as one of, if not the best, Elvis impersonators in the business. As well as having the iconic look, he has perfected his vocals such that not only can he impersonate Elvis, but so that he is able to emanate the various styles that the artist developed throughout his career. In the past, he has played alongside several of Presley’s former band mates including drummer DJ Fontana and bassist Jerry Scheff and has toured for sold out crowds across Canada, the United States, India, Thailand, the United Kingdom, Hong Kong, the Philippines and Australia.

Elvis remains the biggest selling artist of all time, with over one billion records sold globally. In addition to his 14 Grammy nominations, he was awarded the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award at just 36 years old. This show will be a celebration of his work and life - a must see for any theatre lover or fan of the undisputed King of rock 'n' roll.
