365 Bristol Café Picks: The Arts House Café

Posted on: 09 Jun 2018

Nestled in the heart of bohemian Stokes Croft, The Arts House Café is a welcoming multipurpose venue which provides a platform for local artists, musicians and comedians.

During the daytime, the space is a light and airy café serving a variety of brunch dishes alongside Fairtrade coffee provided by Clifton Coffee Roasters. In the evening, the tone shifts to an atmospheric restaurant feel with dinner options available from 5 till 9.30pm.

Regular art exhibitions feature at the café, since they believe in supporting local artists and giving them a space to display their work. You can check out their exhibition programme here for more details on what is being displayed this month.

Every Monday the venue is host to the Truth Out Cinema - a club which shows films on topics ranging from climate change to historical perspectives on famous figures. Entry is always free, but donations are much appreciated. Upcoming showings include Beyond Crisis on June 18th and Pride on July 9th.

Their Underground Comedy night is once every fortnight, on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month, and they host open mic nights every other Friday for those budding singers amongst you!

As well as being a public venue, the Café is also available to hire for private parties and events. The intimacy of the venue makes for a great space to host smaller get togethers, whether that be a birthday party, a rehearsal, or a corporate event. Their room for hire seats up to 40 people, and offers a sound system, projector and screen.

The Arts House Café is located at 108A Stokes Croft, Bristol, BS1 3RU. For more information on upcoming events, or to check out their sample menus, click here for their Facebook page or here for their website.

You can also contact them on 0117 923 2858 if you have any questions or would like to hire the space.

Opening times are:

Tuesday - Saturday: 09:00-23:00

Sunday: 10:00-17:00
