This classic stage show is based on the 1983 film starring Jennifer Beals and Michael Nouri. The production features an unforgettable score, dazzling costumes, and dance numbers that will have you wanting to get up on stage!
Its soundtrack includes well loved numbers such as Maniac, Gloria, I Love Rock & Roll and (of course) its title track Flashdance... What a Feeling. Joanne Clifton will be starring as the lead, Alex Jones - a welder in Pennsylvania who has dreams of becoming a professional dancer.
Clifton has been a professional dancer on BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing since 2014, and was the show’s champion in 2016. She also won the World Ballroom Showdance Championship in 2013, and played the title role in the UK tour of Thoroughly Modern Millie in 2017. She will play opposite singer-songwriter Ben Adams who will be performing the romantic lead part of Nick Hurley.
Joanne says of the show; “This is just another dream come true! I think everyone in the world whether dancer or non-dancer, as soon as they hear 'What a Feeling', remember that iconic scene at the end of the film and I'm so incredibly lucky that I get to do that every night in a UK TOUR along with fabulous numbers like "She's a Maniac... I'm over the moon! It's another amazing opportunity in my musical theatre career and I can once again sing and act alongside dancing!’
Flashdance is on between Monday 25th and Saturday 30th June at Bristol Hippodrome.
