Spice Girls Party (Mel B's Birthday Special) at The Lanes on Friday 25th May 2018

I'll tell you what you want, what you really really want (sorry, couldn't help it) - it's to get yourself down to top Bristol venue The Lanes this Friday 25th May for some classic retro tuneage in celebration of that fabulous all-girl group, The Spice Girls.

Held to celebrate Mel B's birthday (actually on the 29th May, not that that's going to dampen the party spirit), this one follows hot on the heels of two sensational, sold-out Spice Girl-themed parties last year - and this one intends to top those ten-fold for a night that's bigger, better and more of an all-night belter than ever.

The night will, of course, pay homage to the musical brilliance (and c'mon, let's be honest, a fair share of their songs were gleefully catchy and infectious) of that warbling, record-breaking, ever-popular quintet so they'll get most of the musical action. There will, nevertheless, be a judicious smattering of other famous bands from the 90s too, including unforgettable classics by the likes of Britney, NSync, Hanson and Backsteet Boys.

And if you're going to revel in the musical joys of the Spice Girls, why not properly get in the spirit of things and dress up like them too? Or at least 90s-inspired outfits, at any rate.  That, quite happily, is being positively, enthusiastically encouraged.

This cracking night of Spice Girls and 90s-themed songs will kick off from 10pm and run right through until 3am Saturday morning.  It's an 18+ event and ID will be required.

You can find out more about this and other upcoming nights, gigs and events at The Lanes here.

The Lanes is located at 22 Nelson Street, Bristol, BS1 2LE.  Tel.  0117 3251979
