Hoba Kebab unveil pop-up kitchen at Bristol's Volunteer Tavern, serving throughout May and June 2018

Normally a 4am-on-a-Saturday-morning delicacy, the humble kebab is an established favourite in Britain, with the satisfying combination of meat, bread, salad and sauce celebrated up and down the country. Inspired by the incredible kebabs on offer in Berlin, Hoba Kebab noticed a distinct lack of 'proper' kebabs in the UK and decided to set up shop in Bristol.

Hoba boasts a diverse menu, full of deliciously fresh, ethically sourced ingredients.

Having just spent the whole of April set up at The Robin Hood pub on St Michael's Hill, Hoba Kebab now have their sights set on a residency at The Volunteer Tavern, a beloved 17th-century pub located on New Street, a short walk from Cabot Circus.

Running throughout May and June, Hoba Kebab's Volunteer Tavern pop-up kitchen is set to serve their full range of mouth-watering kebabs, from Grilled Mackerel to their popular Full House offering - a towering portion of chargrilled cauliflower, lamb and chicken with the classic combination of sauces, spices and salad.

The ingredients used by Hoba are as fresh as they come, with specially baked bread from Joe's Bakery in Bristol, fully free range and locally-reared meats from Ruby & White Butchers, and spices and fresh fruit & veg bought from local markets.

Hoba's owner, Hope, has previous experience at Leith's prestigious Cookery School, and says she was inspired to start her venture after a trip to Berlin last year. "I decided I wanted to run my own business when I was training as a chef at Leith's, but it wasn’t until I tried the most incredible quality kebabs in Berlin that I realised the UK was missing out and I first had the idea for Hoba" she said.

The Hoba Kebab pop-up kitchen at The Volunteer Tavern is now open and will be running at the pub throughout May and June. For more information, check out Hoba's website or visit their Facebook page.

The Volunteer Tavern is located at 9 New St, Bristol BS2 9DX.
