The Great British Food Festival will be swinging into Bowood House this August Bank Holiday. From 25 - 27th August join around 70 traders for an event exploring the best of British food.

The Great British Food Festival at Bowood House

In addition to over 13 hours of live music, visitors to The Great British Food Festival can look forward to around 78 talks and demonstrations at what promises to be a jam packed family event. There’ll be plenty of tasty food and drink to try as well as an artisan market.

Yummy Food at The Great British Food Festival

The line up of chefs and bakers include some of the most loved Great British Bake Off contestants including 2013 winner Frances Quinn, with Christine Wallace, Martha Collinson, Beca Lyne Pirkis and Julia Chernogorova alongside many others. Are you a baker? Enter The Great British Food Festival’s Cake Off and compete against other talented cooks to be crowned the winner. Cake Off entrants also get free entry to the festival so it’s worth rolling up your sleeves and donning an apron.

The Great British Food Festival brings us three competitive Man V Food challenges. The 606 sausage challenge where contestants eat as much as they can in 6 minutes and 6 seconds - can you beat reigning champion, James Shute, who ate his way through 74.5 inches of sausage in 2016? Heat lovers can take part in the Chilli Challenge whilst those with a sweet tooth can try the Treat Challenge as part of a duo.

Cake at The Great British Food Festival

There is loads lined up for the kids too. The Great British Food Festival will be hosting free circus skills workshops where you can learn everything from plate spinning to stilt walking to unicycling. Alternatively, if your child is an aspiring baker, you can book them in for junior cookery classes which last 30 - 40 minutes.

Cake Off at The Great British Food Festival

Whether you choose to go for the whole weekend or just a day there are many ticket options available. Day tickets are £10 for adults at £5 for children 5 and up (under 4s go free). A weekend family ticket for 2 adults and up to 3 children is £42. Booking fees apply if booking online.
