The Galleries in Bristol host a Health and Care Jobs Fair on Thursday 26th April
Posted on: 21 Apr 2018On Thursday 26th April from 10am-2pm, The Galleries shopping centre in Bristol are hosting a jobs fair aimed at people working or wanting work in the Health and Care Sector.
The jobs fair, run by Bristol City Council and the Department for Work and Pensions, will see over twenty employers in the Health and Care sector, including hospitals and leading care providers, gathering at the centre to discuss opportunities in this rewarding line of work. Among those present will be residential homes and home-care providers serving Bristol.
Customers are invited to visit the centre to explore the extensive opportunities that this rapidly growing sector has to offer. Professionals from within the industry will be on hand to talk to interested parties – giving first hand advice to prospective employees. With a variety of jobs at all levels there is the chance to find the perfect job – whether you are just starting out, or climbing the career ladder.
The jobs fair is part of the Proud to Care campaign which aims to raise the profile of working in the care sector, highlighting the positive difference workers make to the lives of others and the wide range of career opportunities available. The jobs fair has been developed in partnership with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), The National Careers Service, Ways2Work – Bristol City Council’s employment support service, Proud to Care Bristol and Bristol Learning City.
Cllr Helen Holland, Cabinet Member for Adult Social Care, says, “As part of our Proud to Care campaign, we want to show what a rewarding and varied experience a career in care can be. We’ve been working with organisations across the city to find chances to promote opportunities for people to get involved through our jobs site and various pop up events. This jobs fair promises to be a great opportunity for people to get out and meet providers from across the Health and Care sector. I’d encourage anyone who might be looking for an exciting career change or a new challenge to come down to The Galleries and see what’s on offer.”
