Where to go in Bristol for Great British Beef Week 23rd-30th April 2018

Posted on: 19 Apr 2018

It’s that time of year again folks! Next week is Great British Beef Week, and we thought what better way to celebrate it than to tell you where to get the finest cuts in Bristol.

Organised by Ladies In Beef - an organisation of female beef farmers passionate about promoting high quality, home produced meat - the week aims to give a boost to the UK’s beef economy and get people eating high quality produce made locally.

For Steak

The Ashville Steakhouse, Southville

Ashville Bristol Sunday Roast

The Ashville’s selection of high quality steaks is second to none. Ranging from the humble 8oz Sirloin to the mighty 96oz T-Bone, there is no way that you will leave this place still hungry! Other offerings include Rump, Rib-Eye, Fillet and Tomahawk, with a choice of 5 sauces to go alongside them. All of their steaks are served with triple cooked chips, grilled tomato, mushroom and dressed leaves.

The Ashville is located at 15 Leigh Street, Southville, Bristol

The Cowshed, Clifton

Cowshed Bristol Beef

The Cowshed opened in 2009 and has been a staple of the Whiteladies Road food scene since. They are sourced by their neighbouring butcher ‘Ruby and White’, and aim to serve up a relaxed and welcoming experience with only the best British cuts.

Their dry aged steaks are served with your choice of chips or crunchy salad. Larger cuts are available to share (900g T-Rex T Bone and 850g Tomahawk) and you can always ‘add some surf to your turf’ with scallops, king prawns and lobster all on the menu.

The Cowshed is located at 44-46 Whiteladies Road, Bristol.

Pasture

For a treat night out or occasion, Pasture offer one of the more sophisticated steak dining experiences in Bristol. Their team of in-house butchers select the best cuts from local South-West farms, with the chefs then preparing them after dry-ageing for a minimum of 35 days. All steaks are cooked over charcoal, with house cuts (‘for two to share, or for the hungry!’) cut fresh everyday.

Pasture is located at 2 Portwall Ln, Bristol, BS1 6NB.

Smokehouse Saloon at The Swan Winterbourne

The Saloon specialise in smoked pulled pork, brisket, jalapeno hot link sausages, BBQ’d everything and are well known for their excellent steaks.
