Jemma has previously worked in Surrey and South Wales, where she was a highly respected practitioner whose cases were often heard in the High Court due to the value and complexity of the assets involved.

We caught up with Jemma, to discuss Stowe Family Law and her involvement.

Can you let us know a brief history of Stowe Family Law and what it has achieved so far?

The firm was founded in Halton, Leeds in October 1982. It is now the largest specialist firm in the country, with offices in locations throughout the UK. We aspire to be the best Family Law Practice in every location where we have an office. With a genuine focus on client care, we aim for all our previous clients to be our biggest advocates.

What will the firm bring to Bristol?

We only practice family law, which ensures we attract the best family lawyers who excel in an area of law they are passionate about.  The breadth of knowledge across the firm means, no matter what our client’s personal situation, they can be assured that we have handled similar cases. Bristol already has a thriving legal sector, but we are confident our specialist approach will bring significant value to the city.

What range of services does the firm offer?

Our solicitors provide a full spectrum of services across family law: everything from divorce and financial settlements, through to cohabitation agreements, grandparents’ rights and mediation.

What differentiates Stowe Family Law from other firms in the sector?

We understand every case is personal. At Stowe, we take the time to ensure every client has the solicitor with the right experience and approach for them, who will efficiently guide them through the process. Additionally, we benefit from in-house forensic accountants which truly sets us apart from other law firms in Bristol and nationwide.

What can you add to the firm with your experience? How long have you been practising law?

I completed the Legal Practice course at Cardiff University and qualified as a solicitor in 2005. I have specialised in family law ever since, working in Surrey, London, the South West and Wales.

In addition to helping many clients through divorce, separation and disputes concerning children, I’ve also worked extensively in high value financial cases involving complex assets in the UK and abroad including property, pension assets, shareholdings in companies and offshore trust assets. My previous case work across Surrey and South Wales frequently included proceedings in the High Court.
