A pillar of Bristol's music scene, the O2 Academy has seen some musical greats grace its stage over the years since opening back in 2001. 2018 is promising to be one of the best years yet for the venue, with a host of stellar live acts to play this year. Highlights in March include soulful singer-songwriter Tom Misch, world-famous Reggae outfit The Wailers, and of course, the beloved weekly Ramshackle nights.

Tom Misch has burst onto the scene in recent years with his unique production style.

Tom Misch - Tuesday 6th March (SOLD OUT)

Although still relatively lesser-known in the mainstream, young singer-songwriter Tom Misch has amassed a huge number of fans in his short career, making tickets for this one very hard to come by. Misch is known best for his collaborations with hip-hop newcomer Loyle Carner as well as the legendary De La Soul, with a new album due for release in April. Tickets for his Bristol show are unfortunately sold out, but keep an eye out for some to become available because you certainly don't want to miss this one.

 

Ramshackle - Friday 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th March

This one needs no introduction. Ramshackle is a Bristolian music institution among students and party-goers in the city, with their weekly events drawing thousands of people through the doors to party. Every Friday night, the O2 Academy Bristol is transformed into a party haven, with cheap drinks and huge tunes on the menu every week. Keep an eye on 16th March, as Ramshackle welcomes Shikari Soundsystem down for a DJ set.

 

The Wailers - Wednesday 14th March

Formerly the band of the late, great Bob Marley, The Wailers are renowned worldwide.

The world-renowned reggae group are back in the UK in 2018 following a huge headline tour this summer, with a special twist this time around. The Wailers will be playing the iconic Legend album in its entirety, due in Bristol on Wednesday 14th March 2018. This is certainly not one to be missed for music fans! The legendary Wailers band returns to bring its revolutionary sound to fans around the world. Steered by famed bassist and founder Aston “Familyman” Barrett, and joined in solidarity with original Wailers’ guitarists Julian Junior Marvin and Donald Kinsey, The Wailers continue to create musical history.

 

The Stranglers - Thursday 15th March

Just a day after The Wailers, O2 Academy Bristol welcomes another iconic act through its doors as The Stranglers prepare to take the stage in Bristol. One of the most influential groups ever to come out of the UK, The Stranglers present The Definitive Tour - a celebration of their careers made up of their greatest hits over the years including Golden Brown, Peaches and many more in an exhilarating live show.

 

The Fratellis - Thursday 29th March

The Fratellis were one of the breakout indie acts of the 2000's.

Coinciding with the upcoming release of their fifth studio album, acclaimed indie outfit The Fratellis are all set to play the O2 Academy at the end of the month. Best known for their tracks Chelsea Dagger and Henrietta, the band's newest album has been hotly anticipated as they try to recreate the magic of that golden period for indie music in the mid 2000's. Be sure to get tickets for this one before its too late to catch a top notch mix of old and new material from one of the UK's favourite modern indie acts.
