John Lydon has been the frontman of Public Image Ltd since 1978.

Fronted by former Sex Pistols member John Lydon (a.k.a. Johnny Rotten), Public Image Ltd have been a defining act of the post-punk sound since their inception in 1978. Over the years they've released ten studio albums, of which the 1979 offering Metal Box is considered to be one of the most important albums of the era. Their most recent release, What The World Needs Now, was released back in 2015 and received widespread critical acclaim.

Public Image Ltd's unique blend of rock, dance, folk, pop and dub has seen the band perform around the world during their 22-year tenure either side of a 17-year hiatus from 1992 to 2009. Lydon reactivated the band in 2009 to release two well-received albums: 2012's This Is PIL, and the aforementioned What The World Needs Now in 2015.

PIL fans can expect a huge live show in 2018, full of the best tracks from the band's expansive back catalogue. The Public Image Is Rotten tour will be accompanied by a documentary film of the same name, as well as a career-spanning special-release box set, with dates for both yet to be announced.

Tickets for Public Image Ltd live at Bristol's O2 Academy are on sale now and can be found here. For more information or to follow ticket updates, visit the band's official website or check out their Facebook page.
