Steven Spielberg’s Jurassic Park stunned audiences when it was released in 1993, telling the story of what happens when an island amusement park filled with dinosaurs experiences a power issue, rendering its security safeguards useless.

The thriller is as memorable for its score, composed by John Williams, as it is the drama that unfolds on screen, and The Czech National Symphony Orchestra will add a magical touch for the audience. Based on the best-selling novel by Michael Crichton, Jurassic Park was masterfully directed by Spielberg and won three Oscars. It also became the highest-grossing film of all time when it was released in June 1993.

Jurassic Park features renowned palaeontologists Alan Grant (Sam Neill) and Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern) who are part of a group visiting the island when the power is cut. As the electric fences that keep the dinosaurs – including the giant, predatory Tyrannosaurus Rex – hemmed in are rendered useless, the humans on the island find themselves at the bottom of the food chain and must fight for their lives against unimaginable dangers.

It remains one of the most thrilling science fiction adventures ever made, and transformed the movie-going experience for an entire generation.
