New study names Bristol as UK property market hotspot for 2018

Posted on: 25 Jan 2018

Bristol has been announced as the UK's current property market hotspot in The Selling Points Index 2018, carried out by Webuyanyhome.com. The study found the city to be the nationwide leader in Employment Rates, as well as being among the top UK cities in relation to average wage, number of schools rated by OFSTED as 'Outstanding', average sale time for a property and more.

We Buy Any Home's Selling Points Index 2018 found Bristol to be the UK's Number 1 city for employment rates.

Webuyanyhome.com ranked 26 UK cities for this year's Selling Points Index, judging them on eight separate criteria: Employment Rate, Average Wage, OFSTED Rating at local schools, Average Sale Times for properties, an NHS Rating in relation to speed of A&E response, Average House Price, Burglary Rate and Population.

The study makes for very positive reading for Bristol and Bristolians, as the city was ranked Number 1 nationwide for employment rate, 3rd in average property sale time and average wage, and 5th for OFSTED school ratings. These impressive stats mean that Bristol has topped the class in 2018, performing well in terms of standard of living and from a sales perspective.

Speaking on the result of the Selling Points Index, WeBuyAnyHome.com founder and CEO Elliot Castle had this to say about the statistics: “We wanted to make our index as comprehensive as possible and took into consideration a variety of factors that really matter to both buyers and sellers. Bristol scored well across the board, offering a high quality of living in several areas.”

Other cities that placed well in the results were Southampton (2nd), Cambridge (3rd), Stoke-on-Trent (4th) and Edinburgh (5th). Towards the bottom end of the table were Cardiff (24th), Swansea (25th) and Belfast (26th).
