Upfest officially announce 10th Anniversary event for 2018Posted on: 14 Dec 2017
Upfest have officially announced the 2018 edition of the festival, a special 10th anniversary event taking place from Saturday 28th - Monday 30th July 2018. The organisers have also announced that the 2018 Festival Artist will be Bristol-based photorealistic artist Jody.
Started in 2008, Upfest has become Europe's largest live street art and graffiti festival, drawing thousands to the streets of Bedminster every year. With a mix of around 350 Bristol-based, UK and international artists, the event sees live art, workshops, live music and more take over for the weekend.
The 2017 Festival Artist was Pahnl, a UK based artist who uses stencils, film, animation and photography to bring his miniature world to life on and off the street. This year it's the turn of Jody, a Bristol-based artist known for producing stunning photorealistic works.
Speaking on the 2018 announcements, Upfest founder and gallery owner Stephen Hayles said "we can't wait to share what 2018 has in store as plans develop, and we're looking forward to opening artist registration in January to really get things started".
The festival has also announced its continuing support of NACOA - The National Association of Children of Alcoholics. Upfest will once again be used as a platform to fundraise for the charity, who offer support for children affected by alcoholism within their families.
