Posted on: 24 Nov 2017With his debut album, 'Our Generation', riding high in the midweeks and after selling out his original run of dates, the winner of Britain’s Got Talent 2017, multi-talented pianist, composer and producer Tokio Myers announces a further 7 UK shows in April 2018 including Bristol O2 Academy on 13th April 2018.
The music sensation has previously supported the likes of Kanye West, The Police, Amy Winehouse and more. He specialises in the sounds of classical, dark ambient and alternative R&B.
Tokio comments on his album saying he wanted to, "bring classical and contemporary elements together. I've been hugely influenced by the 90s dance scene, by bands such as Faithless and Massive Attack. There was a magic to that era, and I wanted to capture that and bring it up to date for our times. You don't need permission - in music, but in life, too. In that respect, I do think it's an incredible time to be alive. We are all responsible for making changes. I feel that something huge is coming. So the album is also very much inspired by the younger generation, the kids coming up now; they've been a huge part of my figuring out what I'm doing and how to do it. This is so much more than me just making an album. I want to make music where you're taken on a journey, on this incredible experience - in other words, life!"
Expect a euphoric, atmospheric show.
