Front Room Art Trail Totterdown from Friday 17th - Sunday 19th November 2017

Who'd have envisioned the homely environs of Totterdown abodes would also be the places of fairy's treasure and mythical wonderlands? Nope, me neither. But seek and ye shall find, for over the weekend of Friday 17th to Sunday 19th November 2017, the Totterdown Front Room Art Trail will entertain, amaze and delight in equal measure.

Totterdown Arts Trail in Bristol

The theme for this year's art trail  is Fairytales, Myths and Legends, which certainly seems apt enough given you'll be allowed to sneak your way around a veritable fantastic feast of goblins, butterfly stilt walkers, dragons' nests, fairy toadstools and a stunning array of intricately designed costumes.

The Arts Trail is actually the oldest - and arguably most popular - in Bristol where, every year, around 200 amateur and professional artists display and sell their works to the public, and it attracts visitors, not just from the region, but from further afield as well.

A lantern parade and fire ceremony near The Totterdown Healing Courtyard will start the evening, while Hillcrest School and Colourful Minds will be holding workshops so the little 'uns can make and take their own lanterns. They'll also be able to take part in a Quidditch tournament and search for fairy shoes and eggs to add to giant sculptures. Dressing up in fairy tale-themed attire is positively encouraged - and that goes for the older wizards and witches too.

Mature elves and pixies will be well catered for with an Alice in Wonderland cocktail bar and a unique spin on that very favourite of contemporary TV shows, The Great British Bake Off, which will see the master bakers of Totterdown pitting their cake-making skills against each other.

Throughout it all, The Oxford Pub will be providing an assortment of live, magical music, which will launch Friday night with the rather mischievously marvellous-sounding indoor goblin, dubclass and DJ rocket science.
