Posted on: 06 Nov 2017

There is, as always, loads going on this week in terms of live music in Bristol, and it can occasionally be hard to choose where to invest that ticket money. We have done the hard work for you and narrowed it down to a few key gigs you cant afford to miss this week!

Monday 6th November - LITTLE STEVEN AND THE DISCIPLES OF SOUL - O2 Academy - BOOK TICKETS HERE

Everything Steven Van Zandt touches turns to gold; starting with Asbury Jukes and the creation of the "Jersey Shore" sound before becoming a founding member of Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band. Now Little Steven & the Disciples of Soul come to the UK in support of the first new album in over 15 years, Soulfire.

Tuesday 7th November - COM TRUISE - The Fleece - BOOK TICKETS HERE

Com Truise is one of the many personas of producer and designer Seth Haley, born and raised in upstate New York and operating out of a 12’-overrun apartment in Princeton, New Jersey. An admitted synth obsessive, Com Truise is the maker of an experimental and bottom heavy style he calls “mid-fi synth-wave, slow-motion funk”.

Wednesday 8th November - NORDIC GIANTS - The Fleece - BOOK TICKETS HERE

For Nordic Giants the performance is the thing, and as those who have seen the live show will attest, it is a visceral experience that goes beyond the normal descriptors. Each mind-blowing performance involves a chosen few award-winning short films, which are soundtracked live with atmospheric soundscapes. Two mythical creatures create an experience with bowed guitar, piano that is both haunting and rousing, and climactic and thunderous drums.

Thursday 9th November - GOLDFRAPP - O2 Academy - BOOK TICKETS HERE

After a run of huge 2017 festival performances - including Glastonbury and Latitude - a spectacular headline show at Somerset House and an acclaimed top 10 album, Goldfrapp are back with the UK leg of their Silver Eye tour.

Friday 10th November - THE BLOCKHEADS - The Fleece - BOOK TICKETS HERE

Formed in 1977 to promote Ian Durys’ album ‘New Boots and Panties’ on the first Stiff Records tour of the U.K. Chaz Jankel, Norman Watt-Roy, Charlie Charles, John Turnbull and Mick Gallagher became known as ‘The Blockheads’ (a reference to a song on Ian’s album). As ‘Ian Dury & The Blockheads’ they went back out on tour, this time without Chaz Jankel, and in 1978 released ‘What a Waste’ a single that reached number five in the U.K. charts.

Saturday 11th November - AIRBOURNE - O2 Academy - BOOK TICKETS HERE

With Breakin’ Outta Hell climbing the charts and an exceptional Download Festival 2017 appearance behind them, Airbourne return to the UK rockin’ and rollin’ their way through a setlist filled with fan favourites.
