There is, as always, loads going on this week in terms of live music in Bristol, and it can occasionally be hard to choose where to invest that ticket money. We have done the hard work for you and narrowed it down to a few key gigs you cant afford to miss this week!

 

Tuesday 31 October 2017 - THE BIRTHDAY MASSACRE - The Fleece - MORE INFO HERE

Combining their interests in various musical and artistic styles, the band has successfully accumulated an impressive international fan base, press accolades, and defied categorization with their unique sound and visuals. The band was formed in 1999 and independently produced and recorded their first two albums, ‘Nothing and Nowhere’ and ‘Violet’ and through both of these high-demand releases, as well as their highly acclaimed and beautifully atmospheric website, the band obtained a large and loyal fan base throughout the world. Due to their independent success, in 2005 they were approached and signed by Metropolis Records and the band began its steady climb to reaching a much wider audience with the 2007 release of the acclaimed and wildly popular ‘Walking With Strangers’. The band have just finished one of their most successful US Tours and later this year they tour mainland Europe and eventually arrive on UK Soil in October for their largest UK Tour to date, as always their highly energetic and charismatic live shows are greatly anticipated here and their fans always make every single show an event to cherished.

The progressive metal triple-bill of INTERVALS, Polyphia and Nick Johnston takes over The Fleece on 1st November. After UK tours supporting Animals As Leaders and Protest The Hero, plus a slot at Bristol's own renowned ArcTanGent Festival in 2016, Canada’s Intervals return for their first UK headline run in support of their blistering tech/prog heavy 2015 album ‘The Shape of Colour’. With Dallas, TX’s Polyphia and Nick Johnston, also from Toronto, ON, completing the bill, don’t miss this metal masterclass.

Black Rebel Motorcycle Club are returning to UK shores for a string of highly anticipated headline shows. The band are currently working on a new as-yet-untitled studio album, the follow-up to 2013’s critically-acclaimed, Specter At The Feast.

Known for his club smash hits such as ‘Locked Up’, ‘Lonely’ and ‘Smack That’, Akon is one of the most successful rappers and songwriters of a generation.  Sunday 5 November 2017 - JOHN MAYALL - The Colston Hall - MORE INFO HERE

The legendary English blues singer, pianist, harmonica player, guitarist, and songwriter John Mayall plays Colston Hall this November for what is guaranteed to be a captivating performance of the authentic sound of British blues music. Mayall has been performing and making music for more than 50 years and has served as a pioneer of blues music, rightly earning him the title of ‘The Godfather of British Blues’. He returns to Bristol to perform in his iconic style which remains as vital today as it ever was. John Mayall is regarded by many as the ‘Godfather of British Blues’, and one of Blues most influential artists ever. Members of his pioneering band The Bluesbreakers included  Eric Clapton, Mick Fleetwood, John McVie, Peter Green and Mick Taylor. With Clapton as guitarist, the band released the now classic album, The Bluesbreakers with Eric Clapton, which became their commercial breakthrough. Clapton left shortly after to form the band Cream.
