Waiting for Godot at Tobacco Factory Theatres from Thursday 19th October - Saturday 4th November 2017

Samuel Beckett's iconic play, Waiting For Godot, will enjoy a two-week run at Tobacco Factory Theatres in Bristol from Thursday 19th October to Saturday 4th November 2017.

Now hailed as an incontrovertible classic of 20th century literature and theatre, it was first performed in 1953 and has now been revived as Tobacco Factory Theatres' first major solo production under the assured direction of Mark Rosenblatt.

Waiting For God in Bristol

The story unfolds as two hungry, unkempt drifters wait by a dead tree. It's possible they were there yesterday and conceivable they'll be back again tomorrow. The titular Mr Godot, however, might just get there first. If they're lucky, which, generally speaking, they're not.

Beckett's masterpiece might be 65 years old but it's a vital, sharp and fresh as ever, exploring the themes of friendship and the existential search for life's purpose. Oh, and the quest for decent pair of boots.
