Introducing: Drag Queen Bingo in Bristol

Posted on: 13 Oct 2017

"Come and be weird, let your hair down and get freaky, in the most glamorous way possible!"

Drag Queen Bingo has been running in Bristol for two years, diversifying from its ordinary heritage (think grannies and perms) into a full-on drag queen gameshow with performances and surprising twists and turns.

Drag Queen Bingo Bristol

Their gameshow, The Genderation Game, is an array of remixed TV classics, that have been changed based on the random and often strange thoughts that go through a drag queen's imagination….

Expect disco and house bangers, supplied by an ever-changing line-up of Bristol’s finest DJs. Their party ‘Freak Chic’ is set to be a sassy showdown, with the takeover of the whole of Old Market Assembly and Wardrobe Theatre.

Think stilettos and glitter galore and of course, bingo, with a haunted twist, featuring some stunningly spooky performers. A night you sure won’t forget.

Whilst it might seem like an unlikely setting for bingo, one that we would usually associate with the straight-edged atmosphere of an old church hall. It is exactly the opposite, and that’s the charm. Hosted by Extravagant tell-it-how-it-is personalities, fitted in dazzling outfits that nobody could grow bored of, Drag Queen Bingo is bold, exciting and funny as heck.

Whether you are inexperienced in the world of Drag and want to see the Queens in action, or you are a regular attendee- all are welcome with one certainty; that your evening will be full of fabulous fun.

Meet the Queens of the Bristol Bingo Scene:

Carmen Monoxide

Drag Queens of Bristol

A notorious witch in her own world and a felon in ours, Carmen Monoxide has both beauty and bite. Always on the run (and on the lash) she's got more than a few screws loose, but has the power to charm you.

Bow Dacious

This little pocket rocket may not have the vocabulary to win you over but what she lacks in vocabulary she makes up for with her moves. At her happiest with a drink in each hand and her stilettos positioned firmly on the dance floor.

Dominque Fleek

Fierce, fabulous, flawless and painfully modest, Dominque Fleek is a diamante adorned diva that would wake your ancestors from their eternal slumber.

Gentleman Caller

Drag Queens of Bristol

A failed career in the Japanese art of "non-contact wrestling” led to the Gentleman Caller travelling for many years down from hull, to start his new career in competitive bingo calling...yet to be confirmed bachelor or a religious deity.

Dihannah Ross

Drag Queens of Bristol

After being banned from every bingo hall in the east midlands, she started a new career as a Diana Ross lookalike hoping that with a bit of clever lighting and an on-point contour she could one day take over as Weston-Super-Mare’s premier tribute act.

Ruby Rawbone

Drag Queens of Bristol

Spawned from the darkest depths and landing in Bristol circa 2 years ago, this fiery redhead is a beautifully beardy creature.

In with the keeping of the origins of drag queen bingo, the night is run as a not-for-profit, with all proceeds going towards worthy causes.
