Shared Space at The Island from Monday 2nd - Sunday 8th October 2017

Creative centre The Island in Bristol is holding its exhibition entitled Shared Space from Monday 2nd to Sunday 8th October 2017.

A vibrant space that now occupies what used to be Bridewell Police Station, The Island has been regenerated as one of the most important creative hubs in Bristol that nurtures and supports the work of some of the finest artistic talents in the city.

This particular exhibition asks the important artistic quandary: what does the effect of working with other creators have on an artist's work? The creative act is very often a lonely, solitary endeavour, but does sharing creative spaces affect and influence the work artists do and have an impact on what they work on next?

Shared Space is a specially curated exhibition of 6 artists who share space at the studio, and will present pieces of contemporary and traditional printmaking, painting, sculpture and animation by Ruby Lou Hinton , Isobel Plent Das Gupta Heather Christie , Lewes Austen Cooper, Rosie McLay and Paolo Russo.

Expect an intriguing, thought-provoking exhibition by a collection of great artists at this innovative and inspiring creative community hub.

The Island is located at Bridewell Street, Bristol, BS1 2LE
