Penny Brohn UK's "stomping success" through Bristol

Posted on: 26 Sep 2017

Penny Brohn UK’s recent ‘Stomp for Cancer’ raised over £4,500. The first of its kind, the stomp included stompers of all ages from toddlers to seniors, and over 100 people took part. The stomp’s route took participants from Millennium Square, under Brunel’s iconic suspension bridge and along the Avon Gorge to Penny Brohn’s National Centre in Pill.  The stomp is part of the celebrations to mark the 10th anniversary of royal patron HRH The Prince of Wales officially opening the centre (formerly Ham Green House) on July 18, 2007.

Penny Brohn community fundraiser Ian Riddell said: “We are extremely thrilled with how the first stomp went. Spirits were incredibly high, it was great to see the community united and we’re delighted with the amount raised. Every step, even the smallest, will help us make big strides to continue to help people live well with the disease. As a bonus, it also marked 10 years since Prince Charles officially opened the building and a group trekked a similar path to celebrate our move from Clifton.”
