Cancer charity Penny Brohn is launching it’s first-ever Stomp for Cancer this month to mark the tenth anniversary of the opening of their support centre, formerly Ham Green House.

Penny Brohn Stomp for Cancer 2017

The event, open to people of all ages and abilities, begins at the Millennium Square at 10am on Saturday, September 23. From there, the route takes participants under Bristol’s iconic suspension bridge and along the Avon Gorge to the charity’s National Centre in Pill.

Having run for over 36 years, Penny Brohn’s understanding of the real impact cancer can have and the increasing number of those affected by it is invaluable to those who reach out to them. The team explore areas like diet, exercise, relationships and a wide range of therapies to ensure that people with cancer receive the best possible support.

Adult registration for the Stomp for Cancer costs £10, while children aged twelve and under can be signed up for £5. Participants are encouraged to raise as much as possible, with great prizes up for grabs for the top fundraisers: £75 sees you entered into a draw for a family-of-four day out, while a total of £150 or more means you will also be entered into a draw for a meal-for-four at a top Bristol restaurant, as well as receiving a Penny Brohn badge and special edition fundraisers’ T-shirt.

Penny Brohn community fundraiser Ian Riddell said: “We are extremely proud to launch the Stomp and hope everyone’s inspired to come along. We’d love to see families join us – even the smallest steps will help us make big strides.”

All Stompers will receive a free fundraising pack, including a personalised T-shirt and sponsorship forms, water and snacks. A free coach service from the finish at Penny Brohn’s National Centre back to Millennium Square will also be provided.
