Celebrating ten years of Illusions Magic Bar in Bristol

Celebrating ten years of Illusions Magic Bar in Bristol

Posted on: 14 Sep 2017

Illusions Magic Bar in Bristol is the UK's only dedicated live magic venue, and it's celebrating 10 years of being open for business this September. To mark the milestone, owner Mark Bennett is inviting the public to attend a "huge party" at the venue tonight.

Mark, a magician and entrepreneur by trade, opened Illusions in 2007 after spending years traveling the country performing magic tricks. He wanted to bring live magic to the public in a unique setting, and picked Bristol as the location for his one-of-a-kind venue in the city's Clifton Triangle area. Since then the bar has been a hit with locals and world-famous magicians alike, including appearances by the late Paul Daniels.

Members of the public can enjoy live magic shows at Illusions every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights with free entry, and are encouraged to sample the bar's renowned magic wand cocktails.

On the subject of Illusions' 10th birthday, Mark was eager to express his excitement at the thought of celebrating the milestone. "In the last decade my business has gone from strength to strength thanks to the support of my fantastic team, our House Magicians and of course the people of Bristol" he said.

In honour of the occasion, Illusions will be hosting a marquee event tonight from 8pm until late. Expect head-turning live magic and a party atmosphere as the bar and its' staff kick off the birthday celebrations!

Mark had some more good news recently, as he learned that his sister venue Smoke & Mirrors had been recognised by the Great British Pub Awards as a finalist in the Best Entertainment Pub category. Opened in 2012 following Illusions' success, Smoke & Mirrors hosts the popular House Magicians comedy magic show, which has received numerous five-star reviews on Trip Advisor.
