UberEats to launch in Bristol tomorrow

Posted on: 25 Jul 2017

The global taxi giants will roll out their food delivery service in Bristol tomorrow with a series of promotional offers.

UberEats

For better or for worse, it is difficult to remember a time before Uber, the digitalised taxi company which truly millenialised travel. Its arrival was something of a watershed moment, and, as with most technological watersheds (like the mobile phone explosion and the germination of the world wide web),  appeared to occur overnight - after which the everyday was significantly altered and personal transport swept with a transformative ease.

And overnight is how it appears that the latest development of this brave new world will dawn, with UberEats set to launch tomorrow in Bristol with very limited pre-emptory fanfare – save for a couple of promotional stickers appearing in the windows of participating establishments.

From tomorrow however, hungry Bristolians will be able to order food from some of their favourite restaurants with a mere tap of a touch screen, as the service launches in the city and several others in the UK.

UberEats pledges to “get you the food you want from the restaurants you love, faster than anyone else. Just open the app, find what you’re craving, and have it delivered right to you.”

Though a comprehensive list of participating establishments has yet to be published, Burger Theory, Pizzarova and McDonalds have all confirmed that they will be available for delivery through the service – with the latter offering free merchandise to accompany their food.
