A new branch of the popular Bristol-based coffee and healthy eating chain will open on Park Street in the coming weeks, relocating from their home on the Clifton Triangle.

The news that Rise, the independent record store on the Clifton Triangle, was to relocate to another location in Bristol at the end of the summer spelled uncertainty for the prospects of Friska – with the flagship branch of the local coffee chain occupying the ground floor of the site.

These fears have seemingly been quelled however, with Friska’s future secured by the establishment of a new branch on Park Street, in the site previously held by Blackwells Bookshop. The shop is set to open at some point in the coming weeks.

This development comes amid news of the chain securing a £3million investment YFM Equity Partners, a private equity funds manager, which aims to support the launch of the business into other UK cities.

Griff Holland, co-founder of Friska, said: "Over the past seven years, we have been honing our menu, the way our stores look and feel, our brand and of course our operating systems.”

“We feel confident that now is the right time to bring our feel good food (and coffee) to cities around the UK and working with YFM and Steve will allow us to do this faster and better, just like our food."
