Yesterday brought the news that the owners of Colston Hall are going all Willy Wonka on the occasion of the venue’s 150th birthday, and are tomorrow distributing 21 golden tickets throughout Bristol.

Each of the tickets represents a pair of tickets to a gig of the holder’s choosing at the venue, as well as access to Colston Hall’s 150th Birthday Bash on the 20th September, which sees the specially-assembled and star-studded Outlook Orchestra descend on the Lloyds Amphitheatre. On top of this, winners will receive a special crate of beer commemoratively brewed by Bath Ales.

Furthermore, in amongst the gold tickets will be hidden one platinum pass, which entitles the holder to entry to every single gig at Colston Hall between September and June of next year.

One golden ticket will be hidden in Bedminster, Clifton, Easton, Filton, Henbury, Hotwells, Lawrence Hill, St Philip’s, Bishopston, Brislington, Cotham, Hengrove, Horfield, Knowle, St Paul’s, Stokes Croft and Totterdown, with four hidden across the city centre.

Clues to the whereabouts of these tickets will be posted on the Colston Hall website tomorrow morning, and will circulate via social media throughout the day. On finding a ticket you should take a photo of yourself with it and post on either Twitter, tagging @Colston_Hall, or Facebook and Instagram tagging @ColstonHall and using the hashtag #ColstonHall150. The golden tickets then just need to be handed in to the Colston Hall Box Office to exchange for gig tickets.
