Singer-songwriter Sally Larkin, of Bristol, whose husband Chris was diagnosed with stage four lung cancer last year, will be releasing a new album in with all the proceeds going directly towards Penny Brohn and the amazing work that they do! There will be a launch party on Saturday 1st July.

Sally Larkin will be launching her charitable record on Saturday 1st July

Sally benefitted from Penny Brohn’s support as Chris endured gruelling chemo, radiotherapy and other treatments. As a testament to the amazing work done by the staff at Penny Brohn’s the CD Life and Other Songs has sprung up to help raise money and awareness.

With over 30 years’ music industry experience including working with Peter Gabriel, Sharon Redd and performing at Glastonbury festival, Sally and her Access to Music colleagues and students have produced 10-track CD Life and Other Songs, which she crowdfunded for and launches at a ceremony at the National Centre, Chapel Pill Lane, Pill (BS20 0HH) on Saturday 1st July, during the evening.

The event includes live performances of some of the album, Lady Nade, DJ and refreshments. The album includes a cover of Peter Gabriel’s Don’t Give Up and Penny Brohn Community Choir, with all proceeds to us, so we can support others for free.

Penny Brohn is one of the forefront charities when it comes to helping people deal with cancer. The Bristol-based organisation has been running since 1979 and has been helping people come to terms with cancer through care and understanding.

Everything they do is based on evidence.  Both our own rigorous service evaluation and over 35 years’ experience of working with thousands of people living with cancer. Their Bristol Whole Life Approach is underpinned by science and the most recent research into the impact of lifestyle, for people living with cancer.

They make sure they keep up-to-date with the latest research findings.  Our Healthy Eating Guidelines, for example, are informed by the latest research relating to nutrition and cancer, including the landmark World Cancer Research Fund report.
