Have Your say on the New University of Bristol Campus

Have Your say on the New University of Bristol Campus

Posted on: 26 Jun 2017

The University of Bristol has revealed its initial vision for the new £300 million campus next to Bristol Temple Meads and is urging the public to feed into a large-scale consultation. Known as the Temple Quarter Enterprise Campus, the development will be one of the city’s most significant regeneration projects in recent history.

The University is encouraging residents and businesses to share their views and help shape the new campus by taking part in a public consultation, which will run online from 19 June to 21 July. There will also be exhibitions of the plans at Engine Shed by Bristol Temple Meads and Beacon House on the Triangle from 20 June to 7 July, plus special consultation events at Engine Shed and Paintworks.

The new building will focus on digital technologies, their application by citizens, organisations and industry, and the innovation they drive. This could be a huge boost for Bristol’s economic and academic structure and you have your chance to be part of it!

The University of Bristol has been shaping the landscape of Bristol for many years, and this new development could have another huge change throughout the city. Make sure you have your say on something that could ultimately affect you.

Mayor of Bristol, Marvin Rees, said: “I look forward to the development of plans for the new University of Bristol Enterprise Campus planned for the heart of the Enterprise Zone. This new world class facility has the potential to turn a derelict site into an inclusive home for digital excellence, offering a vast range of opportunities and building on the city’s reputation as a leading digital city.”

A rubbish pile soon to be a state of the art facility for University of Bristol.

Construction work is scheduled to get underway in 2019 and it's hoped the campus will open in time for the start of the 2021/22 academic year.

The online consultation can be found at bristol.ac.uk and if you want to join in on social media remember to use #TempleQuarter.

For any further information, there will be public exhibitions from 20 June to 7 July at Engine Shed (open 8.30am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday) and Beacon House (open 8 am to 7 pm Monday to Friday and 10 am to 4 pm at weekends). You can also call 0117 977 2002 to leave feedback if you are not online.
