Once Bonobo has opened proceedings, On Thursday, Welsh giants Manic Street Preachers (above) will take to the helm, back on the scene after their triumphant tour around the country’s arenas last year. Support for this gig will be ably provided by British Sea Power and Welsh multi-instrumentalist The Anchoress.

Craig David all over your Amphitheatre… The inexplicable second-wind of the resurgent garage giant took everybody by surprise, but was consolidated by the release of 16 last year which impressed for more than just its nostalgic novelty. A man for all-time, catch him on the Friday night - you can chill on Sunday.

Bringing the series to a reluctant close on Saturday 24th June will be the Haçienda Classical, an exciting project conceived by Graeme Park and Mike Pickering - two DJs who frequented the legendary Manchester nightclub. Working closely with Joy Division bassist Peter Hook (who co-owned the Haçienda), they have reimagined a number of classic Haçi anthems as orchestral arrangements that will be played by the Manchester Camerata Orchestra.
