Colston Hall – June Highlights

Posted on: 29 May 2017

Colston Hall is one of the premier venues for any act to perform in Bristol, and throughout June this is no exception. An incredible line-up of different acts will be gracing the stage and you really will not want to miss out on any of the following.

June Highlights at Colston Hall

Low Roar - Fri 2 Jun 2017

Wandering songwriter Low Roar has an unerring knack for channelling vast landscapes into his enigmatic songs. Yet these ethereal layers wrap themselves intimately around his voice, and, tethered to his heartfelt lyrics, express the joy and sorrow of solitude hand in hand. His brand-new record ‘Once In A Long Long While’ is due to be released in April 2017.

BCS Summer Concert – Bernstein and Durufle – Sat 10 Jun 2017

70 years after its first performance Duruflé’s Requiem continues to haunt: a Mass for the dead; a plainsong-inflected comfort to the living. Bernstein contemplates comfort too – but only after a toe-tapping take on Psalm 100 that will raise the roof! This programme also includes music with a Hebrew influence by the American composer Eric Whitacre.

Bristol’s very own multi-award winning comedy hero Mark Watson headlines an astounding opening night for the Comedy Garden 2017. The Live At The Apollo star brings a gag-packed set complete with his customary flailing about, chaotic audience interaction and all sorts of other fun to the Big Top.
