Standing out even against the brilliance of the Clifton culinary backdrop is The Mint Room, an Indian restaurant which provides the conditions for a near-perfect fine dining experience, a sophisticated cut above your average curry house.

Set within a sleek complex of dark brown panelling is a kitchen that matches the sophistication of these settings only with the quality of the food served within them.

The man behind the magic is head chef Saravanan Nambirajan, who has worked at the Michelin-starred London restaurant, Tamarind. He serves up exciting and innovative infusions in dishes which draw from both traditional and modern Indian cuisine, as well as using British ingredients to add a contemporary note.

Alongside the treats on this or their Lounge menu, the restaurant offers a series of alcoholic concoctions, all of which are served up with aplomb by able bartenders, which make for a wonderful way to complement or supersede your food.
